Parting Stage

An animated sequence for a live cinema experience.

I was approached to design the animated title sequence for Parting Stage, an Aorere College production that amalgamated live theatre, dance, music, and animation.

Taking the brief to tell the story of three children growing up and weave it into the title credits, I took the coming-of-age theme into the visual direction of the sequence, having the illustration style ‘age’ with the protagonists – evolving from matchstick-style drawings into more developed portrayals.
